Toot Your Own Horn!
QUEEN ANNE SCHOOL

WASHINGTON POST/AGNES MEYER OUTSTANDING PRIVATE SCHOOL TEACHER OF THE YEAR IS OUR VERY OWN CHEMISTRY TEACHER, MR. XU DUAN!!! CONGRATULATIONS MR DUAN FOR BRINGING ADDITIONAL HONORS TO QUEEN ANNE SCHOOL AND FOR YOUR WORK WITH OUR STUDENTS!
Each year, The Washington Post honors exceptional men and women in the teaching profession by awarding $3,000 to an outstanding teacher selected in each of the 19 local public school systems, and ONE award to a teacher from a private school in the metropolitan area. The selections are made through a nominating process and the final decision is made by each local school system. Nominees from private schools are screened by a committee of educators and community leaders through the coordinating efforts of the Council for American Private Education.

Congratulations to the 6th grade team
of David Dixon, Josh McFarland, Dionte Steward, Alex Reid, and Bryan Ross
who represented Queen Anne at the Battle of the Books held Thursday April 3rd
at The Calvert School in Baltimore. Despite a late start in preparing for
this competition and competing against teams from larger schools who have
previous experience at the Battle of the Books, Queen Anne’s team tied for
third place! Great Work!
